Stem end rot : It attacks the fruits. Epicarp turns dark around
the base of the pedicel in the initial stage. Subsequently the affected area
enlarges to form a circular black patch which extends rapidly under humid
atmosphere and turns the whole fruit completely black within two or three days.
The pulp of the diseased fruits becomes brown and somewhat soft. Careful
harvesting and subsequent handling of the fruits to avoid any injury is very
important.
